E.M. Berens pulls no punches here. What you get is an exhaustive volume of Greek and Roman Myths, Festivals, Temple Worship etc. From the Primordial Gods to the Titans, from the Olympians to the Demigods, to the heroes of legend.
For the price it is ridiculously informative and entertaining!
I have tried out several Mythology books on Kindle and this is the best!

Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece and Rome Books Reviews
This book kept my interest was very informative and easy to read. Was a joy to read I discovered things I knew nothing about.
I got this for my daughter to assist her with the Percy Jackson series. She loved it. She read the whole book. Now she is addicted to Greek mythology. My daughter reads at a 9th grade level, but at times she needed clarification. It is wordy at times.
Good book if you wish to know the basics without delving deeply into myths and origins. Give it a pass though if you'd like a detailed analysis.
Greek mythology has complicated and racy relationships all over the place. This book manages to make it a little dull describing, for instance, Zeus' many marriages. Mostly he did not bother with that formality and just seduced women sometimes in the shape of an animal or beam of sunlight.
Greek mythology is exciting and gory and weird and this book is very thorough but dull.
The book has an incredible amount of information about all the Greek gods and godesses, also their Roman equivalents. None, even the most insignificant is left out. Many gods, specially the most relevant, had several wives or husbands, children of each marriage are also mentioned. This means the inclusion of so many names that it is sometimes difficult to follow. Also all the known legends and histories of Greek and Roman heroes are described with great detail. This is not a novel so reading it one page after the another is somewhat tedious, it can be considered more as an encyclopedia with a really valuable information. The version has two flaws. no illustations are included (this is correctly mentioned when buying the book) and if you wish to go back and reread about any of its characters or stories, it is not easy to find it, a big difference with a printed book, where just by flipping the pages (and if there is a good index, even more) such information can be found.
"I was looking for a storybook and I received an educational history book about stuff I already knew about. People who want story books should not buy it." - my daughter, age 12, who enjoys Greek and Roman mythology.
The table of contents was outlined in numbers without a description attached. The content appears to be primarily about Greek/Roman characters and as my daughter found out much to her disappointment, this book did not contain any story content.
This review and the star rating are for the formatting. The content is good and would get four+ stars; at the current price of 99 cents I'd recommend it to anyone, despite these problems
As of April 2015, it doesn't have a reasonable index. You have to go to end of book to see the index, which gives page numbers from print edition, and no links. Page numbers aren't in the formatting, so the info is of minimal value. You have to use text search. This is a book most likely to be wanted as a reference, not to be read from beginning to end. Xistpublishing.com should add page numbers to formatting, or make links of the Index, and add the Index to the table of contents.
